How a Ukrainian Construction Company Became a Trusted US Partner
CLOSW Construction was established in Rotterdam in 2002. Because the Netherlands has some of the world’s most demanding construction standards — tight urban sites, strict environmental codes, and zero tolerance for delays — we developed a project management culture that is genuinely different. Every estimate we produce is detailed. Every schedule we commit to is real. In addition, our quality control systems are ISO 9001 certified, which means the same rigorous process that governs our European builds is applied to every warehouse, industrial facility, and commercial development we deliver in the United States.
As a result of our reputation in Europe, American clients began approaching us in 2018 for projects that required both US compliance and European-grade accountability. However, rather than parachuting in a Dutch team, we built a permanent US operations infrastructure — hiring local project managers, superintendents, and subcontractor networks in each state we entered. CLOSW Construction was founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2002. The city’s intense construction climate demanded absolute reliability. Because of this, we learned to never miss a deadline. Moreover, we became experts at staying within budget. As a result, that culture of discipline grew into our company identity. Over two decades, we completed more than 280 complex projects. These ranged from manufacturing plants to logistics hubs. In 2018, we expanded into the United States. We brought the same uncompromising standards with us. However, when full-scale war engulfed Ukraine in 2022, we made a decisive move. We fully relocated our operations and core team. Today, we operate as a fully licensed, OSHA-compliant US contractor.
